Keeping it transparent
This is a listing of all items we corrected in July 2018. The changes could include details added to a story after it was published, an actual correction, or other alterations we want be transparent about. (This does not include copy editing, such as typos, or adding a link if it had no effect on the story content or intention.) The changes are also noted on the original stories and posts.
Item changed: Edmonton Headlines: Monday, July 2, 2018
What happened: We updated a reference to the new RCMP commanding officers around the Metro Region all being women.
Reason: The new commanding officer in Spruce Grove is a man.
The mistake was noticed the next week, when the July 9 Headlines included a story about the new top cop in Leduc, who is a woman, and double-checking on all the previous links confirmed that wasn’t actually the case in Spruce Grove. This one is just a simple mistake that should have been caught earlier.
