Follow us on Facebook and Twitter too, as we watch the results come in.
UPDATE: – Final results
All the polls are in and we have a new city council and school boards. Each race saw one upset, and we get a bunch of new people because of open wards – 3 on city council, 1 on the Public school board, 4 on the Catholic school board.
UPDATE: 11:06 – TonCat hangs on
It came down to the last polls reporting, but Ward 7 incumbent councillor Tony Caterina squeaked out a win to hold his city council
โI can tell you that Tony took it by 150 votes,โ Andreychuk said.
Caterina said he received a congratulatory call from Andreychuk #ward7

UPDATE: 11:03 – Another new mayor
It a more contentious race, Cathy Heron comes out on top in St. Albert. That bodes well for Don Iveson’s regional co-operation.
UPDATE: Meet the new councillors (that we expected)
With three open wards we knew we’d be getting some fresh faces on city council. The winners are Aaron Paquette (Ward 4), Sarah Hamilton (Ward 5) and Tim Cartmell (Ward 9). Links to their websites should give you a sense of what they’ve been talking about this campaign.

UPDATE: 9:55 – Strathcona County upset
The mayor’s race to Edmonton’s east had a lineup with the current mayor, a former mayor, former MLA and another politician in the running. It was going to have a big finish and we’ve got an upset!

A few upsets are still possible, in city council wards 3 and 7, Edmonton Catholic Ward 76 and Edmonton Public Ward C. The excitement continues!
UPDATE: 9:15 – The mayor’s speech
Don Iveson gives his victory speech (and other election stuff on Corus Edmonton’s live Facebook broadcast).
UPDATE: 9:12 – surprising early results
Incumbents in Wards 3 and 7 are in tight races. Most other incumbents look to be holding their seats, but we could be in for some surprises yet tonight!
UPDATE: 8:55 – Officially official for the mayor
We called it the second polls closed, but this one is officially in the bag for Don Iveson. He’s sitting with 10 times the votes of the next challenger for mayor. It’s four more years of Iveson in Edmonton!
UPDATE: 8:39 – Best campaign vehicle
Now that the race is over, we can declare this the best vehicle of the election. It definitely caught our eye!
