Free for Family Day
Have fun, save your money
Family Day weekend is a great mid-point of Edmonton winter. There will be more snow and cold but we’re also closer to spring. You’ve earned a day off.
In that whole family-friendly spirit, there’s plenty going on that’s fun for all ages. A lot of it is free too. Free!
Get excited.
The City of Edmonton’s got a good list of a lot of events happening around the city, including events at City Hall, Churchill Square and the Art Gallery of Alberta. The Silver Skate Festival continues down at Hawrelak Park too (be aware the warm weather may affect that).
Don’t forget the Winter City Shake-Up activities downtown Saturday too.
You can also get into any provincial museum, park and historic site for free on the holiday Monday, including Rutherford House and the Provincial Archives of Alberta.
Not as free as the free events, there’s the Chinook Series wrap-up, Metro Cinema has a couple of movies screening this weekend as part of Black History Month, and you can catch the music of Pixar movies at the Winspear Centre.
And, here’s one that’s a little bit of a different idea. Why not make Saturday your day to do something you’ve been putting off? #somedayinfeb is a local effort to make the third Saturday or February the day to do something from your “some day” list instead of continuing to put it off.
